Silja worked in the finance industry for over 20 years leading investment teams for long term institutional investors before changing the focus of her career to supporting individuals and businesses to reconnect to their purpose and strengths in order to make an even bigger contribution. As a coach and mentor Silja has supported many clients moving to senior leadership and taking more strategic roles.

Gaelle has helped senior executives and mid-management level professionals to plan their careers for over 20 years. Gaelle offers an objective and evidenced based view on next steps, to optimise the chances for success. For those who are unsure about their professional path, she helps them better understand their strengths and where they could use them to make the greatest contribution.

Research

Our survey into accessing leadership roles has shown that for 80 per cent of those surveyed an affirming workplace would be the single greatest single contributor to reaching senior leadership with many reporting this as the most significant barrier to career advancement.

For those already within senior leadership, again an affirming workplace culture was the standout support in reaching this stage. 

Popular supports that respondents were seeking included leadership mentoring and leadership and executive coaching. 

This research is one of the key reasons for us founding this initiative to provide the space for reflection and planning for our clients to tackle the challenges they face and gain access to the supports they need to make progress. Given the potential obstacles, a listening and supportive coaching or mentoring relationship can make a big difference in moving forwards.
