Counselling
Our counselling services are tailored to the needs of neurodivergent adults and the needs of parents and carers of children with additional support needs.
With lived experience and specialised training, our BACP-registered therapists provide compassionate, non-judgmental support to help you navigate challenges and move forward at your own pace. We offer online therapy sessions, focusing on your unique experiences, and also provide an affordable low cost counselling service for parents and carers.
Together, we create a safe space to explore, heal, and grow.
Our key sensory, emotional and thought systems vary and neuronormative assumptions and misconceptions about neurodivergence can mean that as neurodivergent people we may feel unseen and poorly understood in therapy just when we need to be validated and seen the most.
Our counselling team has lived experience and has trained in supporting neurodivergent people.
We focus on how you feel and think, and seek to affirm, understand and support you in uncovering what has happened to you and how you wish to respond.
We offer therapy online and our sessions last 50 minutes.
Our therapists can work with you on a short-term or longer basis.
Our approach is compassionate, accepting and non-judgmental. The work is centred on you and what you need at this stage and how you wish to move forward.
Many of our neurodivergent clients experience difficulties due, inter alia, to living in a world designed for neurotypical brains. It can be almost impossible not to internalise negative messages about neurodivergence and not to feel bruised by our early life experiences where we have not been fully supported.
Rather than seeing mental health and wellbeing as only an “in person” issue, while recognising those elements, we also acknowledge the impact that society and our environment have on us as well as the role of our environment in helping us to recover.
Our therapists are BACP members, and have experience in working with interpersonal trauma and abuse, addictions, bereavement and other losses, as well as chronic health conditions and anxiety and depression.
It is never too late to take stock, evaluate and seek to move forward in the ways that are right for you and at the pace that works for you.
We also have a low cost service for parents and carers. Scroll down this page to find out more
