ASDAN Geography

The ASDAN Geography Short Course covers key geographic topics from the perspective of the individual learner to help them understand the world around them and is approved by the Geographical Association

This group is led by Leonie Mattingley (MA, Inclusive Education) and is taught in a small group online during the new term with days and times to be confirmed.

Who this course is for

We are offering this course for all learners aged 8 to 14.

Learning is in an informal and inclusive style with adaptations made to suit all types of learner with each learner working at the right level of work for them.

How learning Happens

Learning is practical and is undertaken by completing challenges through coursework and each learner works at their own level. There are no grades and the course is completed by gaining credits for accredited learning hours completed with the group leader.

How to sign up

The per session charge is £6 and parents can sign up their child on the booking form here.

We always welcome additional payments from those that are able to in order to reduce the impact on our bursary funding as each session costs £10 to run per learner.

Payment is to be made to the account details on the booking form by 4pm on the day before the class.

Follow on courses

After this completing this course learners can move on to completing ASDAN Short Courses such as Animal Care, Citizenship, Expressive Arts, Foodwise, Football, Leadership, Personal Finance, PSHE, RoadWise, Sports and Fitness and Volunteering. This course also could lead onto the ASDAN Personal Development Programme Bronze, Silver and Gold certificates. The course covers topics such as physical processes; food, energy and waste; and tourism.

The course is from the perspective of the learner and includes real places and addresses the place of each learner in the world around them.

Sessions will start during the week commencing 7th September 2020 and finish by Friday 18th December with half term during the week of 26th October to Friday 30th October inclusive
